How to reach Nepal

By Air
Tribhuvan International Airport is the only entry point to Kathmandu by air.The Airport is situated about 7 kilometers east of the city nearly 25 minutes drive.Delhi, Kolkata and has regular flights from Bagdogra airport. Bhadrapur Airport is nearly 90 kilometers from Bagdogra Airport.

 

By Rail
There is practically no railway in Nepal. There is a 59 kilometers railway line in the south in 2003.. Government of India has planning to set up a railway network along the border of Nepal. Hence one can travel close up to the Nepal border by Indian Railway. Indian railway has regular trains stopping at this border station in West Bengal and Bihar. Naxalbari is the nearest Railway station to Kakarvitta and is situated 620 kilometers away from Kathmandu. Birgunj which is about 210 kilometers away from Kathmandu

 

By Road 
There is over 9000 kilometers of paved roads throughout Nepal. Indian border town of Naxalbari is 40 kilometers from New Jalpaiguri Railway station and nearly 32 kilometers from Bagdogra Airport. It is an hour drive from the airport. Gangtok or Darjeeling is three to four hours from Nepal border town of Kakarvitta. By road there are more than 10 entry points from India
